Most HVAC monitoring relies on thermostat temperature: ambient air across the room, a proxy for what's actually happening inside the system. Irvin measures the five signals a tech would clamp on for, directly at the source: pressure, temperature, capacitor, airflow, and condensate. Two devices do the work, one outside at the condenser and one inside at the air handler, with eight core refrigerant points between them. The problem

Refrigerant pressure tells you charge state, metering device behavior, and whether there are internal restrictions. Most monitoring tools don't measure pressure at all. They infer everything from a thermostat across the room, which only sees the symptom hours after the compressor's already stressed.

Direct pressure at four refrigerant points: indoor coil inlet and outlet, plus compressor discharge and condenser liquid line outdoors. The problem

Thermostats read ambient air across the room. By the time the house gets warm, a slugged compressor, a failing TXV, or a frozen coil has already been damaged for hours. The temperatures that matter are at the metal: where the refrigerant changes phase and where the air actually hits the coil.

The signal

Six dedicated thermistors at the points a tech would clamp on: liquid + suction lines outdoors, distributor + suction lines on the evaporator, plus return + supply air in the ducts. Paired with the pressure sensors at the same fittings, Irvin calculates live superheat and subcooling: exactly the values a tech reads off gauges, continuously.
